Joliet Junior College cruised to an 86-49 victory over Concordia University JV on Monday.
The win is the sixth consecutive for the No. 8 Wolves.
JJC blitzed the Cougars from the opening tip going on a 14-2 run to start the game. The outstanding run set the tone for the game.Â
The Wolves kept their foot on the gas, effectively ending the contest early. JJC opened a 20-point lead with just over six minutes remaining in the first half and opened the second half on a 10-0 run squashing any hope for a Cougar comeback.Â
Sophomore Jarret Gmazel, the reigning NJCAA Division III Player of the Week, ran the show for JJC on offense scoring nine points while adding eight assists. Sophomore big man and, fellow Lincoln-Way Central graduate Mitchell Kwasigroch was tough in the paint scoring with 20 points. He also controlled the boards with a team-high twelve.
Jason Bingham Jr. and Trey Wornica each reached double digits in scoring with 11 and 10, respectively.
An encouraging point for Kuhn was having so many contributors to the victory.
JJC will travel to Olive-Harvey for a nonconference game on Tuesday.Â
