Joliet Junior College was heavily tested against Lake Michigan College but picked up its 13th win of the season, a 79-70 victory at the Event Center.

Reigning Region IV Player of the Week Deesha Brefford scored a game-high 20 points helping the Wolves to the comeback victory.

"I was glad we were able to experience a playoff atmosphere before we play conference games in the new year," coach Shaun Sanderson said. "We were able to execute down the stretch and beat a very good team. We still have to continue to get better, but the signs look pretty good right now."

JJC trailed by four heading to the fourth quarter, but used solid defensive play to overtake the Red Hawks outscoring them by 13 in the game's final quarter.

Kianna Campbell also had an excellent game for No. 2 JJC making the game a nightmare on the Lake Michigan offense.

She also added 18 points in the victory.

JJC (13-2) will have 10 days off before returning to action at the Event Center against Elgin Community College on Dec. 30.
