Joliet Junior College's offense picked up right where it left off 10 days ago.
The Wolves came out firing building an 18-point first-half lead and finishing with a 98-68 victory over Elgin Community College at the Event Center on Saturday.
Lincoln-Way Central's
Jarret Gmazel fueled the JJC attack with 21 points.
The Spartans cut the Wolves lead to four points in just over five minutes in the second half, but the offense found its groove again, going on an 18-8 run sparked by three Chase Travis baskets. He finished with 18 points in the game.
"We got a couple breakouts. Quincey broke down the defense and got us some easy ones," coach
Joe Kuhn said. "Jarret hit a three off of a set play and before you know it, it's at 12 again."
Kuhn couldn't say enough about Travis' game inside.
"Chase had a tremendous game," Kuhn said. "He's just around the rim and also had about four nice post moves as well."
Quincey Butler added 17 points for the Wolves, who have won six consecutive games. Jason Bingham (11) and Nick Welter (10) also reached double digits for the surging Wolves.
JJC will return to the court and begin conference play on Wednesday at home against Rock Valley.
