The Joliet Junior College women's basketball team defeated Elgin Community College by a score of 78-42 in their Region IV semi-final game. Deesha Brefford led the way with 27 points followed by Kianna Campbell with 21 points. Destiny Villalejo had 11 points, while Treanna Perry produced 11 rebounds and 6 assists in the contest. "This was step one for us in the playoffs," Head Coach Shaun Sanderson stated. "We will need to play our hearts out this weekend starting with a tough match-up against Madison." JJC (19-10 overall) advances to the Region IV semi-final game against Madison College on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at tournament host Rock Valley College. Game time is 3:00 pm.
