JOLIET - Joliet Junior College trailed in the second half of its biggest game of the season, but one sophomore stepped up in a big way.

With the No. 2 Wolves trailing No. 3 Harper 1-0 in Saturday's Region IV Semifinal, Bradley-Bourbonnais native Morgan Samp scored two consecutive goals in the 66th and 67th minutes giving JJC the lead.

JJC added one more goal for insurance in a 3-1 victory on Saturday.

Samp scored the first goal unassisted sneaking the shot into the lower right corner of the goal. A minute later she scored again with assists from Jasmine Urbanek and Lindsey Bond.

Urbanek hit a rocket past the goalkeeper to add late insurance. Daisey Quinonez was excellent in goal with 17 saves.

The Wolves advance to play at Madison on Wednesday in the Region IV Championship on Wednesday.
