MADISON, WI. - Joliet Junior College has been racking up achievements all year long.
Add another to the list. The Wolves scored three times in the second half to knock off top-seeded Madison College 3-0 in the Region IV championship match on Wednesday.
The Wolves advance to the District D Championship on Sunday at noon and will play the winner of Anoka-Ramsey and Delta.
Miranda Nirchi got the Wolves on the board in the 55th minute with an assist from
Brittany Delrose. Katherine Rasmusseen added another in the 65th minute giving the Wolves much needed insurance.
Lindsey Bond assisted on the goal.
Yesenia Hernandez sealed the match in the 87th minute with an assist from
Taylor Metcalf.
Nirchi was named Region IV Tournament MVP while coach Wes Dapkus was named Coach of the Year.
