JOLIET - Joliet Junior College played tight with McHenry County but eventually fell McHenry County 76-68 at the Event Center on Saturday.
The Wolves (2-2) trailed by 10 at half but crawled back to get a lead but couldn't hold down the stretch. The Scots regained the lead but the Wolves cut their lead to two with a
Jaylen Jones 3-pointer with under two minutes to go. JJC would get no closer. Jones finished with 12 points for the Wolves.
"Unless we come out with more urgency to start the game and commit to better shot selection, we will continue to be an up and down team," Kuhn said. "We have young guys trying to figure things out a bit as well. Overall, it was a good week with two road wins, but we need to protect our home floor."
Braijon Thomas finished with a team-high 16 points while
Isaiah Clemons added 11 and a team-high six rebounds.
Trey Wornica rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points and six rebounds.
Nolan Kennedy also matched Clemons and Wornica with six rebounds of his own.
Matteo Lombardi and Thomas each had two blocks for JJC.
Right after the women's game, the 1994 National Championship team was honored with a pregame ceremony.
JJC will host Illinois Valley College at 7 P.M. on Thursday.
