JOLIET - Joliet Junior College played solid defense but it wasn't enough in a 62-51 loss at home on Thursday.

The defense was especially tough in the first half as the Wolves opened the game on a 10-0 run. It also held Illinois Valley to 22 points but the Wolves took just a one-point lead heading into the break.

JJC (2-3) couldn't make enough shots to keep up with Illinois Valley down the stretch.

Nolan Kennedy was a bright spot for the Wolves as he played tough inside grinding to 15 points. Braijon Thomas led JJC with 10 rebounds while Bobby Shurilla added nine.

The Wolves will play again on Tuesday against Kankakee Community College.
