MADISON, WISC - Sophomore Jarret Gmazel has been making plays all season.

The First-Team All-Region selection made his biggest play of the year in Saturday's Region IV semifinal against fifth-seeded MIlwaukee on Saturday.

After a Milwaukee turnover in the game's final seconds, Gmazel drove toward the basket nailing a running shot at the buzzer sending the JJC bench into a frenzy. The shot gave the Wolves a 76-74 comeback victory.

"Playoff basketball is difficult," coach Joe Kuhn said. "It really is about win and move on. We played well at times but really didn't have a very good offensive game. But, we made some very tough finishes down the stretch and Gmazel hit a tough shot at the buzzer."

JJC (25-6) advances to play Rock Valley at 3 p.m. in the championship game. The two teams split a pair of meetings earlier in the season.

Gmazel's shot almost wasn't possible as the Wolves trailed by four with just over a minute to go.

Quincey Butler hit two key shots in the game's final 42 seconds to knot the game at 74 apiece. He finished with a team-high 21 points, nine rebounds and six steals. Chase Travis had one of his biggest games of the season scoring 16 points while Gmazel added 14 points.

Nick Welter rounded out the double digit scorers with 12. His 11 rebounds gave him a double-double.

Tomorrow's Region IV finals will be streamed live.
