Joliet Junior College was red hot in the first half.

The Wolves drilled 11 3-pointers in the first half and weathered a Stormers second half run in a 100-71 victory over Milwaukee Area Technical College at the Event Center on Wednesday.

"Obviously, we shot the ball extremely well. We hit 22 threes on the night," coach Joe Kuhn said. "Anytime you do that, it's obviously going to be a good game scoring wise, but I'm probably more impressed with our defensive focus. I thought at the beginning of the game we were difficult to score against. We got our transition going and obviously had a lot of open looks."

JJC (21-6) continued its excellent long range shooting in the second half finishing with 22 3-pointers made. Eight different Wolves hit at least one 3-pointer.

Mitchell Kwasigroch was electric from behind the arc nailing five 3-pointers. The Lincoln-Way Central graduate had a team-high 20 in the first half.

The Wolves went on a 10-2 run late in the second half to open an insurmountable 26-point lead.

Jarrett Gmazel finished with 20 while Quincey Butler added 18 points.

Richie Elias had 11 points and nine assists.

The win was the 499th of Kuhn's career. The Wolves will have a chance to earn him No. 500 on Saturday against Wright College. The contest will also conclude JJC's home slate for the season.
