ELGIN, IL - Joliet Junior College got the big hits when it needed.
Josh TESCH doubled home
Jackson STULAS and
Adam KNERR knocked in Tesch on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th helping the Wolves edge Elgin 7-5 on Thursday.
Elgin scored two times in the ninth inning to knot the game at five.
Stulas was excellent at the plate with three hits. Cavanaugh also had three hits for JJC (19-15). Tesch and
Marcus STEWART each added a pair of hits while Knerr drove in two runs.
Tyler ZAREMBKA started on the hill for the Wolves and was solid. Zarembka went 5 2/3 innings giving up three earned runs while striking out three.
Jake SUCHOR picked up the win in relief of
Nick BECKER. Suchor pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up only one hit while striking out three.
The Wolves are set to play North Central Community College Conference rival Milwaukee Area Technical College in a noon doubleheader on Saturday at
Wayne L. King Jr. Field.
