JOLIET, IL - Joliet Junior College split with North Central Community College Conference rival Triton. JJC took Game 1 5-3 but faltered late in a 4-2 loss in Game 2 at
Wayne L. King Jr. Field on Monday.
The loss snaps JJC's eight-game winning streak.
Coach Wayne King will go for his 1,100 win on Tuesday against Kankakee Community College.
Joliet Junior College 5, Triton 3
Zach Pych had a stellar offensive game goin 3 for 3 with a pair of runs batted in.
Andrew RODRIGUEZ continued his excellent offensive season with a double and two runs driven in.
Marcus STEWART added a pair of hits including a triple.
Jake CARLSEN picked up the win on the mound throwing 6 1/3 innings giving up three earned runs while striking out five.
Nick BECKER got the final two outs for the save.
Triton 4, Joliet Junior College 2
Jake SUCHOR was solid on the mound but Triton scored four times in the sixth inning to pull off the victory.
The Wolves scored a run in the second and fourth innings but were unable to hold the lead.
