JOLIET, IL - Joliet Junior College had the best regular season in recent memory piling up 31 wins. In doing so, JJC earned the No. 2 seed at this weekend's Region IV Tournament which will take place on the campus of Rock Valley College.
The Wolves will square off against Harper in the opening game of the tournament at 10 A.M. on Friday.
If the Wolves win, they will play the winner of No. 1 Rock Valley and No. 4 College of DuPage at 4:00 P.M. on Friday. If the Wolves lose to Harper, they'll play again at 2 P.M. against the loser of Rock Valley and DuPage.
The result of the games on Friday will determine when if and when the Wolves will play on Saturday.
The Wolves won two of three games against the Hawks this season. In the Rosemont Dome Tournament, the Wolves defeated Harper 3-1 then split a home doubleheader on April 10th. JJC (31-18) fell in Game 1 5-1 but bounced back for a 14-2 victory in the second game.
Top-seeded Rock Valley has won the last four consecutive national championships.
If the Wolves win the Region IV Tournament, they will advance to the NJCAA Division III Softball Championship set for May 17-19 in Rochester, Minnesota.
