JOLIET - Joliet Junior College trailed by a goal at halftime but scored three times in the second half to take a 4-2 decision over South Suburban in the team's home opener on Monday evening.
Miranda Nirchi and
Taylor Metcalf provided all the scoring for the Wolves with two goals each.
Nirchi scored the first two goals for JJC, finding the back of the net 20 minutes in with an assist from
Jazmin Baltazar. After a pair of South Suburban goals, Nirchi tied the game at two in the 50th minute with assists from
Morgan Samp and
Lindsey Bond.
Taylor Metcalf scored the game-winner in the 65th minute with assists from Nirchi and Bond. Metcalf added some insurance seven minutes later scoring again also with assists from Nirchi and Bond.
Daisey Quinonez added 11 saves in goal for the Wolves.
JJC (2-1) will play Harper at home at 4 P.M. on Wednesday.
