SOUTH HOLLAND - Joliet Junior College had an excellent comeback victory in its last home match against Kankakee Community College and the Wolves used that momentum to sweep all three matches at the South Suburban Tournament on Saturday.
JJC 3, Malcolm X 0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-19)
The Wolves left no doubt in defeating Malcolm X in their opening match.
Cuay Whitener was dominant with 18 kills and four aces.
Taylor Van Duyne also reached double digits with 10 kills.
Emma Sweeney, the nation's leader in digs, led the Wolves with 10 digs.
Isabella Cosentino ran the offense efficiently piling up 35 assists.
JJC 3, Milwaukee Area Technical College 0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-12)
Much like the first match, the Wolves had no issues in picking up their second win of the day.
Whitener and Van Duyne (.667 hitting percentage) were outstanding again picking up eight kills each.
Shea Kieldyk had two solo blocks and a block assist while Cosentino had 30 assists.
JJC 3, South Suburban 0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-23)
The Wolves finished the sweep behind Whitener's 14 kills.
Cosentino again piled up 30 or more assists in every match of the day finishing with 31 against South Suburban. She also added two aces.
Sweeney was solid defensively with 20 digs.
JJC returns to the Event Center on Tuesday to play N4C rival Rock Valley.
