MADISON, WI - Joliet Junior College jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead and cruised to a 90-78 victory over North Central Community College Conference rival Madison on Thursday.
"This was a good road win for us," coach
Shaun Sanderson said. "Madison is a tough place to win. We were very dominant on the boards but we have much room for improvement."
Lynese Johnson and
Talia Edwards each had monster games both finishing with double doubles. Johnson finished with a team-high 22 points and 18 rebounds while Edwards finished with 14 points and 15 boards.
Emily Atsinger finished with 16 points while
Madison Harris rounded out JJC's double digit scorers with 10 points.
Amil Mitchell led the Wolves (10-6, 1-0) with four assists. Johnson, Atsinger and Harris each had two steals for JJC.
The Wolves will host Wilbur Wright College at 1 P.M. on Saturday.
