The JJC men's basketball team improved to 2-3 on the season with a 72-65 home victory over Olivet Nazarene University's JV team on Nov. 11.
"We're showing some signs of improvement and getting better in some areas," said Head Coach
Joe Kuhn after the contest. "Our defense is improving, which is good for the long haul, and offensively we're not turning the ball over near as much which is helping us as well."
Sophomore guard
Jayden Gasby (Curie) led the Wolves with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman forward
T.J. Wicks (Kankakee) added 14 points and 6 boards.
Guards
Andre Hughes (Oswego East),
Omar Policape (Niles North),
Sion Lightfoot (St. Anne), and
Adam Taylor (Providence Catholic) all contributed 9 points apiece.
"Omar shot the ball well early and was a catalyst in getting us out to the lead," said Kuhn. "TJ was really big for us in the second half and had a nice stretch with a couple of buckets."
The Wolves travel to Illinois Valley Community College this Thursday, Nov. 14. Tip-off against the Eagles is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
