Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Marianne Ryan

Wolves Fall in Region IV Semifinal

The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team battled back from a double-digit deficit twice in the second half, but the #2 seed Wolves could not overcome #3 seed Madison College and fell 83-91 in the NJCAA Region IV Division III Tournament semifinal at College of DuPage on Feb. 22.

"Our team faced a lot of adversity this season and our guys have really battled through it," added Kuhn. "Regardless of the ending of this season, this group was never disappointing in their effort and always played as hard as they can which is all you can ask for."

"Unfortunately, we dug ourselves too big of a hole in this game because we didn't defend well in the first half," added Kuhn. "But we battled hard and we did come back."

Freshman guard Adam Taylor led the Wolves' offense with 24 points including six 3-pointers. Sophomore guard Jayden Gasby added 20 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman guard Nathan Wozniak contributed 13 points and 9 boards, and sophomore guard Sion Lightfoot chipped in 10 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Freshman guard Omar Policape and sophomore guard Gavin Grace added 8 points apiece.

The Wolves finished the 2019-20 season 13-18.
