Three first half goals propelled the JJC men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Milwaukee Area Technical College on Wednesday afternoon on the home pitch.
With the win, the Wolves move to 5-10 overall and 3-3 in the N4C. It was the second victory of the season over MATC, as the Wolves also defeated the Stormers 3-0 on September 14
th.
Just 10 minutes into the game, the Wolves
Dylan Gustafson opened the first half scoring and then 10 minutes later
Michal Czaplinski gave the Wolves a 2-0 lead.
With 9:00 left in the first half,
Josh Cruz added the final goal of the half and game, as the Wolves went to the break with a 3-0 lead. The Wolves had opportunities in the second half, but played well defensively as
Matias Gallego and
James Anderson each played a half in goal for the shutout.
"We've had a lot of injuries, but it was good to score the first goal," Gustafson said. "Our ball movement and possessions were really good today. Once we get everybody back and it's coming around, we are looking forward to the playoffs in a couple of weeks, because we can contest with anyone when we have our team together."
The Wolves now have a week off until their final regular season match, as they will travel to Madison, Wisconsin to take on Madison College in an N4C match.
