The JJC women received 25 points and 10 assists from Grace Harris as the Wolves beat Madison College 72-65 at the Event Center Tuesday night.
The victory was a big N4C and NJCAA Division III Region IV outcome as the Wolves evened up their home record at 3-3 and are now 6-16 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Grace Harris led the Wolves with 25 point and 10 assists.
"That was a big conference win, especially at home and we need to get this not only for conference, but also for the Regional tournament at the end of the season," Harris said. "I'm really not looking to score right away and I like to pass the ball early and then when the other teams sees that I'm passing, it will open up a little for me later because they go and help."
Josey Ocampo added 12 points and Faith Domercant added 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Her final rebound was big after a missed Wolves free throw with only :15 seconds remaining, as Madison was mounting a late charge.
The Wolves trailed after the first quarter 16-14, but took a 33-27 lead at the break. They led 51-46 heading to the fourth quarter and increased the lead early in the fourth until the Wolfpack made a charge late in the game.
"This was big and Madison made it interesting at the end," JJC coach Shaun Sanderson said. "These are games we need to win and we are getting better but still need to clean up some things. We have to be better at the free throw line."
