The Wolves' road trip continues to experience turbulence, as Joliet Junior College suffers another defeat, this time to Morton College, 75-51, on Thursday.

The Wolves (3-2) fell behind early, and despite holding Morton scoreless in the opening minutes of the second half, the team could never fully battle back.

"The first half we came out and didn't play too well," Wolves head coach Shaun Sanderson said after the game. "Couldn't score, turned the ball over and more so things that we did to hurt ourselves. The second half was like night and day. We held them from scoring. I don't think they scored a bucket until about five minutes into the second half -- and that was a free throw. So, we gained some composure and we fought and battled all the way to the end."

Leading the Wolves effort was Kiyah Robertson, who scored 20 points and recorded six rebounds along with a block. Grace Harris scored 10 points and pulled in eight rebounds with four assists and a steal.

"I think today we came into the game already thinking of defeat to this team," Robertson said. "Our first half wasn't the best but I think after going into the locker room and talking, we all decided that we want to go out in the second half and give them a run for their money. I came to a slow start to the game but after realizing what I was capable of ... I think our whole team turned it up a notch. Even though we came short of the win, I think we made them fight pretty hard for the dub and didn't let up and that's what matters the most in a game like that.

"They could not stop Kiyah inside," Sanderson said. "But we're a little under the weather and a little winded. Had some illnesses on the team. We gotta get healthy but it was a great effort on our part. I was really proud of these young ladies."

Joliet returns home Monday as the Wolves host Minnesota West Community & Technical College for an 11 a.m. tip.
