Tied up at 77 at the end of regulation, the Wolves battled Carl Sandburg into overtime in the first game of the Waubonsee Classic. Joliet, however, could not put the game away and fell, 91-84.

The Wolves (3-9) struggled at the foul line all night, shooting just 7 for 20. The opponents, however, made 25 of 34 attempts at the line.

Romello Ali led the team with 18 points while Eric Troutman scored 15. Alex Vassilakis finished with a double-double, scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. He also had eight assists and four steals.

Notably for the Wolves, Mickael Allen made his return after recovering from a concussion. He earned a double-double of his own, contributing 10 points and 13 rebounds. 

Starter Miles Gillespie was out due to illness.

Joliet will play its second game of the Waubonsee Classic on Saturday against Aurora University at noon.
