The streak ends at six.
The Joliet Junior College women's basketball team was hoping to keep the momentum going but stalled out Thursday on the road, dropping a tough contest to Milwaukee Area Technical College, 75-62.
"I told the girls yesterday whoever wins the rebounding battle wins the game," head coach
Shaun Sanderson said. "We did not win that battle."
Sophomore
Grace Harris led the Wolves (11-10)Â in the effort, scoring 20 points and recording five rebounds and five steals.
"We missed many opportunities to grow our leads this game," Harris said. "We could have rebounded more efficiently and taken better care of the ball. I think this is a game we should have won, so I'm ready to run this one back soon."
Kiyah Robertson scored 19 points while pulling in seven rebounds to go with three steals and a block.
Ashanti Brown finished with nine points, four rebounds and three steals.Â
"I think we didn't start the game off strong enough which put us in a bad position," Robertson said. "I love how hard we fight though. We never make it easy for any of our opponents and as our team continues to learn to be more consistent for four quarters, we will continue to grow."
Joliet was outscored from the free throw line, 20-5.
"This time of year that cannot happen," Sanderson said. "We have to compete ever possession and understand the situation. This is a learning experience for us."
The Wolves will look to bounce back Tuesday when Joliet hosts Bryant & Stratton College at 5 p.m. This is 80's Night at the JJC Event Center, so come support the Wolves!
