Learning from past mistakes, the Wolves kept their composure and fought back Saturday to beat Moraine Valley, 75-69.
"Today was a good win for us and I thought this game showed our improvement and maturity," said head coach
Shaun Sanderson. "Weeks ago, we would've lost this type of game but we kept our composure. We didn't get rattled after losing the lead and was able to make adjustments and execute down the stretch."
Grace Harris had a big night for Joliet (9-8), scoring 26 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists.
"I felt really confident in my shot this game and comfortable on the floor," Harris said. "Hopefully we can continue to extend this winning streak."
"We came into the game focused and locked in," said
Kiyah Robertson, who finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. "When we trust the process, good things happen for us."
Maggie Grady also scored 14 points while adding seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Sanderson said the team will have to continue to develop "that dominant mentality."
"Sometimes, we shouldn't be in situations that we but ourselves in but it's a learning process," he said.
The Wolves return to action Thursday when they play host to Malcolm X College at 5 p.m.
