After dropping both of its games last week, the Joliet Junior College men's soccer team bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Illinois Valley Community College on Monday.
The Wolves (8-4) struck first late in the first half, whenÂ
Jesse Goense got the ball past the opposing goal keeper with help from
Adrian Gonzalez Martin in the 36th minute for a 1-0 advantage. In the 67th minute, IVCC's Jakob Stumm evened the tally, 1-1.
Five minutes later,Â
Linus Graetz netted the game-winning goal for the Wolves.
"We played much better than we did last week," said Wolves coach
Cris Trillo. "Our concentration level was good and we played at a high intensity level. We beat a good team with mostly international players."
The Wolves are back in action Wednesday as JJC hosts Kankakee Community College at 2 p.m.
