From the opening tip to the final buzzer, the Wolves were in control Tuesday as JJC women's basketball earned a road win over Illinois Valley Community College, 78-23.
"We played a very good pace and were able to execute our offense late in the game," said coach
Shaun Sanderson. "When you're off for as long as we were, conditioning and timing is usually a concern. We showed no signs of lacking in either."
The Wolves (5-2) were led by freshmen
Joyce Tua-Link and
Jazlynn Foster, who each scored 21 points in the win. Sophomore
Kiyah Robertson finished with 17 points.
"All together, I think we played good and felt like we didn't step down to our competition today,' Tua-Link said. "I think games like this test us to see if we can keep the same energy and intensity every game."
The Wolves have another long stretch off before they host Moraine Valley Community College next on Thursday, December 5 at 5 p.m.Â
"This is a great time to enjoy family and get more rest before we take on the next stretch of games," said Sanderson.Â
