It didn't end the way the Wolves wanted.
Joliet Junior College women's basketball finished out the regular season Saturday afternoon in a losing effort against visiting Triton College, 79-39.
"This is definitely not the outcome that we would've liked,"Â said Wolves coach
Shaun Sanderson, "but it gave us an opportunity to play some of our players that normally wouldn't get those big minutes heading into the playoffs."
The Wolves finish the regular season 14-15.
"We were able to rest some key players with some nagging injuries," said Sanderson. "This time of the season we want to make sure that everyone's as fresh as possible heading into the playoffs on Friday."
"With having another key player out, I definitely felt like I needed to step up things a notch," said
Maggie Grady. "Not only on offense, but defense as well, which I thought we did. We came out slow in the beginning which led to us continuing that same momentum throughout the game. Luckily, we have a week to prepare for our district."
Postseason action begins Friday as the Wolves host the Central District Championship.
