Four Wolves scored in double digits Tuesday as Joliet earned a decisive victory against Madison College, 91-44.
Angie Knowles led the Wolves (13-12) with 24 points on 63 percent shooting. She also recorded eight rebounds and three assists.
"Today felt great," the sophomore guard said. "I think this win was big for us. We focused our attention on different things this game. It was a slower game, but gave us a chance to work on our offense and find different looks. Moving forward, we know what we need to succeed."
NJCAA Division III Region 4 player of the week
Kiyah Robertson scored 18 points and finished with 11 rebounds and seven blocks.
Maggie Grady scored 15 points and had six assists, while
Ashanti Brown finished with 12 points, five rebounds and a pair of assists.Â
"Tonight was a good night for our bench to get some experience before heading into the playoffs in a couple weeks," said Wolves coach
Shaun Sanderson. "It felt good to go to the stat sheet to see we had multiple players in double figures. That is something we need to do every night if we're going to extend our season. Kudos to our bench for stepping up on defense and aggressive play."
In Sanderson's opinion, his team didn't start as strong as it appears.
"I thought in the beginning we weren't as intense but we picked up the intensity and pace, which carried over into the second half," he said.
The Wolves travel to Rock Valley on Thursday for a 5 p.m. tip.
