NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Joliet Junior College softball team finished their spring trip on Wednesday with a 1-1 split on the day, falling to Rhode Island before prevailing over Sussex County.
The Wolves (2-5) fell earlier in the day to Community College of Rhode Island, 9-2.
Hailey Hoffmann (0-1) pitched five innings in which she allowed four hits and as many earned runs while striking out two.
Isabella Hanson led the Wolves offensively in the first game, going 2 of 3 with a home run and RBI.
Brooke Kelley also went 2 of 3 at the plate with a run scored.
Game Two went in JJC's favor as the Wolves cruised past Sussex County College, 11-1.
Cynthia Calderon (1-1) earned her first win of the season, pitching five innings in which she gave up six hits and one run while striking out two.
Breanna Kwasniewski went 2 of 2 with two runs and an RBI.
Emma Herder also finished 2 of 2 with a double and four RBI's.
Jenna Judge went 2 of 3 with a double and a pair of RBI's.
The Wolves will return to action on Tuesday, March 19 when they travel to Illinois Valley College.
