The 2024 NJCAA Division III softball season is off to a strong start for the Wolves.
Joliet Junior College a back-and-forth affair against Moraine Valley, coming out on top, 8-6. Originally, the game was meant to be played on the road but the Wolves hosted the contest.
Jenna Judge (1-0)Â earned the win after striking out five in two innings and allowing just one hit. Judge also excelled at the plate, hitting a game-tying homerun in the bottom of the sixth. She finished 2 of 3 with a double, two RBI's and two runs.
Emma Herder lifted the Wolves (1-0) to victory with a walk-off homerun. She finished 2 of 4 with two RBI's and a pair of runs scored.
Isabella Hanson went 2 of 4 with a triple, RBI and run scored.Â
Not only was the day meant to be away, but also a doubleheader. Game 2 was stopped in the second inning due to darkness with JJC up, 6-3.
The Wolves will depart for their spring trip to North Myrtle Beach this weekend, which runs from Sunday, March 10 through Thursday, March 14. Their first game will be Sunday at 9 a.m. against Mohawk Valley College before facing Potomac State later in the day.
