In a high-scoring contest on Tuesday, the Joliet Junior College baseball team fell to College of DuPage on a walk-off single, 13-12.

The Wolves (13-23) trailed 10-7 entering the ninth, but put five runs across the plate to take the lead. 

After a scoreless opening inning, the Wolves (13-23) jumped ahead to a 3-0 advantage in the top of the second when Matt Klaess and Mitch Thomas drove in runs. The Wolves added a run in the third and fourth innings while giving up two to the opponent before allowing DuPage to even the tally in the bottom of the fourth . DuPage took its first lead with three runs in the sixth inning.

Thomas finished 3 for 6 with three RBI's. Klaess went 2 for 4 with three RBI's and three runs scored. In all, the Wolves tallied 18 hits in the effort.

Jaden Mathon got the start for the Wolves on the mound, pitching two innings and striking out three while walking one. Adam Mellema pitched three innings in relief, allowing four hits and three runs with one strikeout. Jack Otis recorded the loss after pitching a third of an inning.

The Wolves are back in action Thursday when they host Morton College in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
