The Joliet Junior College baseball team split a doubleheader against Morton College on Thursday, dropping the first game before winning the second.

In the first game, the Wolves (14-24) started hot with four runs scored in the bottom of the first and added a fifth in the third. Morton College battled back and scored eight unanswered runs between the fifth and seventh innings to steal the game, 8-5. Mitch Thomas led the Wolves offense, going 2 for 3 with a double.

The second game saw the Wolves score in every inning but the second en route to a 10-2 victory. 

Ben Hokanson got the start, throwing four innings in which he allowed one hit and no runs. Drew Darlington earned his first collegiate win after throwing 1.1 innings in relief and allowing one run. Anthony Rizo pitched 1.2 innings and allowed another run and two hits.

Matt Klaess went 2 for 4 at the plate with a triple and two RBI's. Aiden Van Duzer went 1 for 3 with a two-run double in the sixth. 

JJC travels to Bryant & Stratton on Saturday at noon.
