The Joliet Junior College bowling teams opened the 2024-25 season over the weekend at the Golden Eagle Invitational hosted by Rock Valley College in Rockford, Ill.

On the women's side, the Wolves finished 10th of 14 teams. Defending singles national champion Madi Lave powered the Wolves with an 18th place finish out of 124 bowlers with a 903 series, averaging 180 through five games. Abby Miller finished 32nd with an 841 series.

"We learned what our weaknesses were and worked on correcting them as we went," Wolves coach Jeff Bailey said. "That will be the main focus in practice moving forward. We finished ahead of a few junior college teams that were participating, but if we can work hard on the weaknesses, we can hopefully match up with Rock Valley which is kind of the bar."

The men finished 14th out of 23 teams, powered by a 24th place finish out of 289 bowlers by Tyler Richter. He finished 1071 for a five-game average of 214. Nick Allocco finished with 966 while Khari Barnes finished 963. Both averaged 193.

"We learned the weaknesses and worked on getting a little chemistry with the team," said Bailey. "There were a couple of new faces, and they learned to work together."

The Wolves return to action on October 12 and 13 when they travel to Indianapolis for the Columbia 300 Western Shootout.
