Devon Richardson scored 27 points and hauled in 17 rebounds to power the Wolves' (16-4) victory.
"Just being more aggressive," Richardson said of his personal game plan entering the contest. "The last two games, I didn't have the best games. So I'm like I'm going to come out, be a leader, be aggressive and help the team win."
"Oh my gosh, just getting him to keep his composure and he was a beast down there," Wolves coach Danny Turner said. "Coaches are never satisfied, but he had a great game. We just got to get a better defensive rotation from him. ... But he kept his composure. He's getting fouled a lot in there because he's such a big body."
Richardson had 10 tries at the foul line and missed just one.
The Wolves shot 47% from the field, going 6-of-18 from beyond the arc and 83% from the foul line, making 29 of 35 tries.
Four other Wolves scored double-digits, led by freshmen
J.D. Rush with 19 points and
Levi Goad at 18 points. Sophomore
Romello Ali scored 16 points as did this week's NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week
Jeffrey Fleming.Â
The game was close throughout with the Wolves holding a slim advantage at the half, 49-46. The Stormers cut the Wolves' lead down to just one late, but the Wolves pulled away.Â
