Box Score Joliet Junior College women's volleyball battled hard and came away with a 3-1 win over Kankakee Community College on Tuesday, extending their win streak to three games.
The Wolves came out storming in the first set with a 13-4 start, but KCC rallied back and took the opener 25-23. In the second, JJC trailed 23-21 late but fought back in a thrilling back-and-forth finish to even the match 1-1.
The Momentum carried into the third set, where the Wolves had to overcome an early 12-9 deficit and pulled away with a commanding 25-17 win. In the fourth, both teams traded points in multiple back-and-forth rallies. KCC led 16-13 and later 19-17, but JJC responded with a 2-0 run to tie it 19-19 before closing out the match with a 25-21 victory.
This was a game where both teams desperately wanted to win and the Wolves needed contributions from everyone. The team looked connected throughout the night, with players stepping up to make key plays and keep rallies alive.
With the win, JJC improves to 11-15 on the season and will look to continue their momentum when they travel to Rock Valley College on Oct. 8.
