Joliet Junior College volleyball is headed to the Region 4 championship after a dominant straight-sets sweep over the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater Rock County on Tuesday at the JJC Event Center.
The Wolves came out strong in the semifinal, taking the first set 25–16. In the second set, the Wolves capitalized on Rock County's mistakes to jump out to a 20–13 lead before closing out the victory. JJC kept full control winning in the third set, winning it 25-11 and sealing the sweep.
Head coach Ally Flanagan praised her team's execution and improvement in key areas.
"We've been really working on our middle connection, and they hit really well tonight," Flanagan said. "That could really help us heading into the championship tomorrow."
With the win, the Wolves advance to the Region 4 championship, where they will travel to face College of DuPage on Wednesday. JJC looks to carry its momentum into the title match as they aim to bring home the regional crown.
