The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team is gearing up for the 2025–26 following an impressive 19-9 campaign last year.
Despite losing three starters, the Wolves return with a strong core and welcome in one of their best recruiting classes in recent years.
Head coach Danny Turner's squad is led by a trio of standout sophomores: All-American nominee Jeffrey Fleming (6'4), Levi Goad (6'2) and Victor Yatou (6'9). They are expected to play a major role in guiding the team both on and off the court.
Joining them is an exciting group of newcomers, including Willie Felton (6'1, Bishop McNamara HS, Honorable Mention All-State) and Ricky Hill (5'10, Minooka HS, All-State). The combination of returning leadership and fresh talent gives the Wolves plenty of promise heading into the new year.
Turner emphasized that while the team lacks some game experience, the competitive edge and depth of this group should make them a force within the region.
"We lack game experience, but should be very competitive," Turner said.
Sophomore leader Jeff Fleming echoed his coach's confidence: "We are expecting the team to come out strong and to be disciplined while playing together."
The Wolves are also committed to success beyond the court, with all sophomore student-athletes on track to graduate and move on to four-year programs.
JJC will look to build on last season's success as they start their season at home vs McHenry college at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1.
