Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Devin Jones

Men's basketball falls to 10th-ranked MATC, 118-84

The Joliet Junior College men's basketball team faced a tough challenge Monday night at home, falling 118–84 to nationally ranked No. 10 Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Milwaukee Tech came out firing, shooting an efficient 61 percent from the field as a team and jumping out to a 62–40 halftime lead that JJC was unable to overcome. The Wolves battled throughout but struggled to slow down the Stormers offense. The Wolves also struggled from 3 shooting 21% as a team

Levi Goad led JJC with 15 points, continuing his consistent early season play, while Victor Yatou added a strong double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Gabe Patterson also contributed with 11 points off the bench

Head coach Danny Turner acknowledged the challenge of facing one of the nation's top-ranked programs but emphasized using this experience as motivation.

"Milwaukee Tech came in nationally ranked for a reason, they're a well-coached and talented team," Turner said. "They shot the ball extremely well, and while we didn't get the result we wanted, it's something we can learn from and build on moving forward."

With the loss, the Wolves fall to 2–2 on the season, and will look to bounce back when they travel to face Waubonsee Community College on Thursday.
