Joliet Junior College men's basketball continued its strong play Thursday night, defeating Prairie State College, 106–74, and extending their win streak to two games.
The Wolves (4-6) came out aggressive in the first half, setting the tempo on both ends of the floor and building a 49–33 halftime lead. Jeffrey Fleming led the charge early, scoring 15 first-half points as the Wolves controlled the paint and dictated the pace.
The second half belonged entirely to the Wolves.
Jyaveion Green sparked an electric run, finishing with 20 points while knocking down six three-pointers, including an emphatic put-back dunk that energized the team and the crowd. His shooting also stretched the defense out and opened up scoring opportunities across the floor.
Inside, Victor Yatou delivered a strong performance, recording 12 points and 8 rebounds, scoring efficiently around the basket while providing a physical presence in the paint.
"I work every day for this. I saw my man was playing back on me, and once I see that, my mindset is to score every time," Yatou said.
Fleming finished the game with a double-double after scoring 22 points and hauling in 14 rebounds.
Head coach Danny Turner praised his team's continued growth following the win, noting that "our guys are improving. We're getting better in every category, and we just have to continue to grind and work."
The Wolves will look to continue their momentum as they hit the road to face College of Lake County on Monday.
