The Joliet Junior College women's basketball team won it's first road game since December on Tuesday as the Wolves rallied past Kankakee Community College, 69-61.
"This was a great road win for us," said Wolves coach
Shaun Sanderson. "To be down double-digits, have double-digit turnovers and keep our composure shows a sign of maturity. We still have room for improvement but these young ladies understood the moment and trusted the system."
The win marks Sanderson's first win at Kankakee after many years at the helm of the Wolves (11-12) program.
Jazlynn Foster led the Wolves with 20 points and nine rebounds.Â
"The first half of the game was definitely tough," Foster said. "We had foul trouble, turnovers and a lot of missed free shots. In the end, I believe we came together as a team physically and mentally and became one."
Lovely Tua-Link scored 16 points and added six rebounds and three assists. Keira Hunt scored 13 points and
Kiyah Robertson finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Wolves travel to Harper College on Thursday for a 5 p.m. tip.
