Box Score 2 A road trip to Oakton College on Monday proved fruitful for the Wolves as Joliet Junior College softball swept the Owls in doubleheader action.
The Wolves (8-10) took the first game, 6-1, as
Skylar Welcome powered the offense with a home run and three RBI's, finishing 2-for-4 at the plate. Lea Harkel went 2-for-3 with an RBI and
Paige Borton went 2-for-3 with a double.
Arianna Jentel (2-4) earned the win for the Wolves with five innings pitched in which she allowed four hits and one run with two strikeouts.
Alaina Moreno earned the save with two innings pitched and one hit.
Game two ended in five innings with the Wolves on top, 16-4.
Cynthia Calderon (4-6) allowed six hits and four earned runs through five innings of work. She had a pair of strikeouts.
Moreno was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and a triple for four RBI's and a run scored. Kerrigan Copes was also 3-for-3, recording two doubles and an RBI. Welcome finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI's and a double. Finally,
Brooke Kelley went 3-for-4 with two RBI's and three runs scored.
The Wolves return to action on Wednesday when they host Prairie State at 3 p.m.
