Wolves' bats come alive as softball wraps regular season

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Wolves scored 39 runs in total Tuesday as Joliet Junior College softball wrapped its regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Sauk Valley.

Game One saw the Wolves close things out in five innings, 19-6. Skylar Welcome (2-1) earned the win on the mound, allowing six hits and four earned runs in the game. She had one strike out. Welcome was also 3-of-5 at the plate with a pair of RBI's.

Kerigan Copes led the Wolves with 5 RBI's with a two hits, one for a double. Katelyn Dahlberg finished 2-of-2 with three RBI's and Lea Herkel recorded a hit and a pair of runs batted in. 

The second game also ended in five innings, 20-3.

Arianna Jentel (9-12) allowed one hit and a strike out in the game but allowed no earned runs.

Welcome led the charge at the plate, going 3-of-5 with two doubles and a home run for five RBI's. Aniya Adkins was 2-of-3 with a home run and three RBI's.

Samantha Rios finished 2-of-3 with a triple and a pair of RBI's. Alaina Moreno was 3-of-4 with a double and two RBI's. Natalie Reyes recorded three hits in the game.

The Wolves' regular season ends with a 26-24 overall record. They will begin a Best-of-3 series against College DuPage on Friday at noon for the NJCAA Division III Region 4 tournament.
