Box Score A four-run first inning put Joliet Junior College baseball up early as they rolled to victory on Tuesday at home against College of DuPage, 6-3.
After allowing DuPage to put two runs on the board in the opening frame, the Wolves (15-16) responded by adding four of their own to make it 4-2 early. A line drive to left field byÂ
Isaiah Rhodes allowed
Charlie Martin to reach home.Â
Jose Granados later ground out on a fielder's choice, allowingÂ
Jonny Carrera to score. A
Dalton Strode line drive to center allowed Rhodes to score followed by another line drive to center by
Jayden Laurence to push Granados home.
The Wolves added a run in the fifth and another in the seventh, while giving one up in the eighth for the final.
Strode finished the game 3-for-4 with an RBI while Laurence also finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBI's.Â
Pitcher
Brandon Cusack earned the win after five innings of work in which he allowed two earned runs.
Danny O'Malley earned the save after pitching a scoreless ninth.Â
The Wolves return to action on Wednesday when they host Triton College for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
