Box Score Holden Burokas pitched a no-hitter Wednesday as Joliet Junior College baseball earned the doubleheader sweep of Triton College at home.
The freshman pitcher walked two Trojans in the second game of the day, but allowed nothing else through six innings of work. Burokas (2-1) struck out eight batters. The Wolves (17-16) recorded five hits in the game but it was Josh McGuigan's ground ball single in the bottom of the sixth that sealed the 1-0 victory by pushing a runner home.
Joliet won the first game, 12-4. Pitcher
Daniel Police (2-0) earned the win after allowing five hits through five innings.
Zack Tarrant was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with four RBI's.
Isaiah Rhodes also finished 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI's.
Mason Heitzler and
Jaden Jackson each recorded two hits and each had a double.
The sweep pushed the Wolves above .500 as they prepare to travel to Prairie State on Thursday. First pitch will be 3 p.m.
