Volleyball takes down Triton College, 3-1

Joliet Junior College women's volleyball earned a strong 3-1 victory over Triton College Wednesday night, continuing to build great momentum over the past two weeks.

The Wolves came out firing in the first set, winning 25-11 and dominating the net.Triton responded in the second, scoring late points to pull away 25-21 to even the match.

Regroupinig in the third set, the Wolves battled point-for-point until the score was tied at 23-23. Elle Norquist delivered a clutch serve to push Joliet ahead, and after Triton tied it again, Kara Steffes and Christian Bouie combined for big plays, with Bouie slamming home the final spike to close it, 26-24.

The Wolves carried that momentum into the fourth set, staying aggressive to finish off the match 25-13. Livija Luzaite stepped up early, scoring multiple times to help JJC jump out to a 5-1 lead. Aubrey Phillips and Christian Bouie showcased their power at the net. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Herrera anchored the defense with key digs to keep rallies alive.

With the win, JJC improves to 7-11 on the season and looks to continue there  momentum when they host Harper College on September 23.
