Box Score Joliet Junior College women's soccer continued its dominant start to the 2025 season with an 8-0 victory over Richard J. Daley on Tuesday.
The Wolves, ranked No. 10 in the country heading into the match, stormed out to a 4-0 lead by halftime before closing strong in the second half.
Victoria Davila shined with a hat trick, scoring twice in the opening half and adding back-to-back goals in the 52nd and 54th minutes. Ella McVicker struck in the 67th minute and Skylar Sparks, returning from injury, capped the scoring in the 74th.
JJC defended well from start to finish, staying organized and preventing Daley from finding the net.
After the match, Davila credited the team's chemistry for her early success this season.
"Understanding how to play with each other in general is one of the key factors in my success so far this season," she said.
Head coach Henry Cheung also reflected on the team's progress and national ranking.
"It's a good encouragement to be ranked number 10 going into the game, but what doesn't excite me is the wins, it's the way we're playing and trusting each other," he said, adding that it was important to see contributions from different players. "It was good to see the non-starters like Skylar, who has been injured, and Ella score today."
With the win, JJC improves to 4-0 on the season, earning back-to-back shutouts as they continue to build momentum. The Wolves return to action Friday on the road at Kishwaukee College.
