02.16.2026

The Wolves track aand field teams competed at the Chicagoland Champioships over the weekend at North Central College.

On Friday, the women came away with four school records and two new National qualifiers. Ka'mhary Scott broke her own records in the 60 meter dash (8.03) and the 200 meter dash (26.60). Caleigh Werve hit a personal best in the pole vault (10' 1 1/4") in breaking her school mark. Allison Behounek set the school record in the 5,000 and qualified for Nationals. Gabby Zid joined her in qualifying in the 800 meters.

"I was pleased with the effort and that so many had personal bests on the day," JJC coach Jeff DeGraw said. "We continue to get a little better each week and they are doing the work necessary to achieve their goals. Gabby Williams had three personal bests on the day and keeps getting better each week."

Saturday, the men followed with two records and two new National marks. Caleb Kies led the way with a school record 1:56.31 in the 800 meters and Aaron Barrios broke the school record in the 200 and qualified for Nationals. Michael Ringberg also qualified in the 200, running a personal best.

"Like the women, many of the men had seasonal bests and they competed very well and continue to believe in themselves," DeGraw said. "Everyone is believing in the process to improve, not only each meet, but everyday and it shows."

Next up for the Wolves is the Slick Invitational this Friday at North Central College beginning at 4:00 pm.
