Joliet Junior College men's basketball continues its postseason success as the Wolves rolled past Pennsylvania Highlands Community College on Friday, 88-67.
The key to success, according to Wolves coach
Danny Turner, is dominating the assists and rebounding categories.
"We had a total of 19 assists and 55 rebounds," Turner said. "I'm really proud of that not only because it's above our average, but those categories are the key to winning games."
Freshman forward
Kareem Parker led the Wolves in scoring with 22 points while adding seven rebounds. Sophomore Jeffrey Fleiming recorded a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds while freshman guard
Ricky Hill added 15 points and eight assists.
The Wolves shot 43.4% on the night, going 33-of-76. They were 3-of-14 from the 3-point and hit 67.9% from the foul line.
At the half, the Wolves had a five-point advantage, 31-26.
The Wolves aim to make a return to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament in two weeks. But first, JJC must defeat Virginia Peninsula Community College on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. CST.
