Baseball goes 0-2 on the day in Texas

Joliet Junior College baseball fell in doubleheader action on Monday, losing 15-3 to Panola College before dropping a 7-4 decision to Northlake College.

Against Panola College, the Wolves took an early lead in the fourth inning when Jacob Miller drew a base loaded walk to bring in a run. Charlie Martin followed with an RBI single that scored two runs to give JJC a 3-0 advantage.

Panola tied the game in the fifth inning before breaking things open in the sixth, scoring nine runs to take control of the contest. Panola then added three more runs in the seventh to secure the win.

Martin led the Wolves offensively, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Martin and Miller each recorded two hits. On the mound, Gadomski started the game for JJC, pitching 4.1 innings while allowing three runs and striking out one. Smolkovich took the loss in relief. Defensively, the Wolves played a clean game and did not commit an error, with Isaiah Rhodes leading the team with four defensive chances.

Later in the day, the Wolves fell 7-4 to Northlake College.

Northlake scored two runs in the first inning and held the lead the rest of the way. Joliet fought back but could not overcome the early deficit.

Martin and Miller again led JJC offensively with two hits each, while Lundeen, Miller, and John O'Brien each drove in a run. The Wolves also turned in one double play defensively.

On the mound, Burokas started for Joliet Junior College and pitched four innings, allowing three runs while striking out five.

The Wolves will look to bounce back as their Spring Break trip continues against TCS Post Grad on Wednesday.
