Joliet Junior College baseball earned a doubleheader split Sunday at Sauk Valley Community College.
The Wolves lost the first game, 8-6, despite jumping out to a 6-0 start. JJC scored two runs in the first, third and fourth innings before the Skyhawks scored in the bottom of the fourth. Sauk Valley proceeded to score eight total unanswered runs, including six in the bottom of the seventh to steal the victory from the Wolves.
John O'Brien went 1-for-2 with a home run while
Jacob Miller was 1-for-4 with a two-run double.
The Wolves took the second game, 8-4, in what was the opposite of the first. Sauk Valley scored two runs in the bottom of the second to take an early lead, but JJC scored five runs in the fourth to take control. The Wolves scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh while holding Sauk Valley to one run in each of those innings for the win.
O'Brien recorded another home run as he finished the game 2-for-4.
Charlie Martin was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI's.
Max Miller hit a three-run homer.Â
Martin set a new single-season record in stolen bases after stealing two in the first game, while he added a third on the day in the second game. He has 33 for the season.
On the plate,Â
Ryan Hindahl earned the win after striking out three through four innings of work and allowing two earned runs.  Matt Fox pitched two innings, striking out a pair while
Bryson Mello also struck out two in his lone inning of work.
The Wolves improve to 19-28 on the year and travel to South Suburban College on Tuesday.Â
